Kanagawa Prefecture is located to southwest end of the Kanto region, the south of Tokyo. Prefectural capital is Yokohama.
Prefecture name is derived from the name of the post town and the magistrate’s office, which flourished from ancient times to the Tokaido. Originally derived from the name of the creek, which was near the Keikyu Nakakido Station, this location is currently on the road.
Population is the second largest after Tokyo. The population density is the third largest（first place is Tokyo, second place is Osaka）.
